The Scarlet and Gray Financial (SGF) program is housed in the Office of Student Life’s Student Wellness Center, and supports students across four areas:
- Developing financial capability
- Addressing financial stress
- Anticipating and offering just-in-time education
- Supporting students in financial crisis.
The program assists thousands of OSU students each year in creating the life they desire through the use of a goal-driven financial process. SGF reaches students through online engagement, in-person workshops, and one-on-one coaching sessions. The SGF program is a peer to peer model, where 38 students currently serve as financial coaches, with 29 incoming coaches currently in training. Peer coaches develop a strong set of personal and professional transferable skills while building relationships with fellow students, faculty, staff, alumni, and industry professionals. This year, SGF expects to host over 1,500 one-on-one appointments and facilitate over 150 presentations, reaching over 7,000 students overall.
